Our Vision.

We believe that Judaism and one's relationship with G-d could be dynamic, beautiful, personal and deeply sincere. That Jewish experiences should be relevant, exciting, soulful, and inviting. And that YJP can be your community, your family and your home.

Each one of us has the ability to impact our surroundings and create change in our local community, and by extension, the world.

Let's build the Young Jewish Philadelphia community, together.

Who we are.

YJP Philadelphia is dedicated to growing a vibrant and inspired network of young Jewish folks in their 20s and 30s here in Philadelphia. We provide a holistic milieu of dynamic social events, career-focused professional functions, handcrafted educational experiences, meaningful spiritual gatherings and opportunities for authentic relationships.

Meet the team.

  • Rabbi Zalman Wircberg

    Co-Director

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, Zalman hails from a family of 12. Zalman’s passion for Judaism had him travel world wide to further his studies and gain experiences as a spiritual leader in South Africa, Florida and China.

After visiting the Old City Jewish Arts Center in 2007, Zalman, inspired by the 100’s gathered for Shabbat wine, challah and kugel surrounded by unique works of art, knew his life’s mission. A Spiritual leader fusing the world of the arts and Judaism into one. Zalman continued on to earn his Rabbinic degree in preparation for the position of Rabbi of the Old City Jewish Arts Center. Fun Fact: Zalman has traveled to 48 states on tour with Jewish Reggae Superstar, Matisyahu.

  • Emunah Wircberg

    Co-Director

Emunah, a Philly girl from birth, developed her appreciation for the arts growing up in a family of artists. She developed her own skills at an early age in the culinary arts, fine tuning them in culinary school. Emunah also developed her skills in Jewish programming and education studying abroad in Israel and then put into practice working for Chabad World Headquarters Brooklyn, shortly after marrying Rabbi Zash.

Now, back in Philly, Emunah puts all of these skills to good use while she and Rabbi Zash co-direct the OCJAC and YJP of Philadelphia, as well as beautifully raise their four children K”ah. Fun Fact: Emunah enjoys her time as a micro influencer @The_modestmom promoting Judaism and inspiring modest fashion

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
